Damo and I were looking through photos of Ava when she was little and realised that we don't have any pics of the three of us because it's usually Damo or I behind the camera lens, so we asked my sister if she could take a few pics while we went down to visit her. We took around 300 shots in the space of about 15 minutes and thought for sure there would be something we could use! After flicking through them, I think we found maybe ten where at least one of us didn't have our eyes closed, or drool running down our chin (Damo I'm looking at you)! If anyone has any tips for getting good snaps please leave me a comment I'd love to hear them! Here's a couple of the good ones we got hope you enjoy and massive thanks to Jacci for taking them.

Loch Ness
At the moment mum and dad are enjoying a holiday in Thailand (some people have all the luck right)?! so we're looking after their dog Nessie, dad got her when I still lived at home and I love seeing her she gives THE best cuddles and is such a gentle giant. Ava loves having her here too and has been patting her everyday. Poor Nessie has also been putting up with having her eyes poked and being crawled over. I don't know what Avas going to do when Nessie goes home and she has to try catch Jock to give him a pat! ps if anyone knows a good way to teach the word "gentle" to a 10 month old pleeaassee let me know

A day fishing
On Sunday we went to the Ecopark fishing farm for Damos brothers birthday. It's place in the country where you catch fish with barb less hooks so you don't hurt the fish and of course you have to release them back into the dam. It was also such a nice surprise when we saw they had some farm animals including baby turkeys which Ava loved to look at. Damo and I both managed to catch a fish (It doesn't matter whose was bigger, the fact is that we BOTH caught one so we were both winners) ha ha. And we tried to get Ava to feed the Alpacas even though she seemed more interested in eating the corn and grains herself!
There was also this cute little guy that tried to hide from us (I don't think the poor alpaca realised that even though he was behind a "tree" we could still see him).

Pancakes
Now that Ava's getting bigger she's starting to eat more and more "solid" foods so usually we give her some of whatever we're eating to get her used to differents textures and tastes. Last week she got to try a small pancake with some apple and strawberries on the side.
This was her looking over the menu trying to decide what to have (little did she know mama had already decided for her)

I did feel bad when we were leaving though and I saw the mixture of mushed up pancake and fruit on the floor directly under the highchair, I guess the resturaunt don't have a little dog called Jock who acts like a hoover whenever Ava drops her food at home!

Quick Update
Sorry I haven't updated in a while! We've bought a new computer well, a 'tablet' which I'm having trouble using and uploading pics so have had to charge the old one to use for now anyway . . . .
Ava is def getting around by crawling a lot quicker now! She is constantly into anything and everything so at the moment there's a lot of "Ava that's not for little fingers", "Ava don't touch", "Ava that's Jocks bone, don't put that in your mouth". Poor Jock is running out of hiding spots with Ava being able to pull herself into a standing position using the couch and reaching forward to "pat" him. She is also loving her finger food especially fruit. Here's a few pics from the past week or so.

Also, Damo and I have set a wedding date at a nice little place down at Kirra beach. We've decided on having a cocktail buffett wedding so very relaxed and casual which suits us perfectly! This is one pic from their website of the room we've booked.
So at the moment the next step is organising Save the date cards. With less than 12 months to organise a wedding,and less than 12 weeks to organise Avas first birthday (I KNOW it's gone that quick) working and looking after Ava it's safe to say I'll be busy over this next year but a lot of people have accomplished a lot more in a lot less time so roll on the fun times!!

Dear Ava
Dear Ava,
You may of already realised you have so much to learn in your life. Your dada and I are going to be teaching you so many lessons and you will hopefully turn out to be a beautifully well mannered loving caring girl. We intend to teach you the usual life lessons that so many kids don't seem to know nowadays - you will say "please, excuse me" and "thank you". You will have respect for yourself and your body. You will treat people with kindness no matter what they look like or how other people treat them. Trust me you will be drummed with these rules. Although there are other life lessons that I think are just as important and don't want you learning too late so I will go through them with you now.
* Don't always follow trends.
Sometimes bad fashion happens. Unfortunately we can get so caught up with the trends we don't know when we should leave well enough alone. Think perms, platform shoes (for guys)!, anything velour and most of the 90s.
* Know your best angle.
You are going to be photographed your whole life (I'm your mama you really have no choice) so the best thing for you to do is just roll with it. But remember once the pic has been snapped it is with us forever (and will reappear at your 21st) so please know that "duckface" will never look hot.
* Open your eyes when it comes to guys.
Guys like this may seem cool at the time but trust me - they are douches! You don't want to date someone that has so much arrogance they think wearing sunnies indoors is cool, or they have no respect for other peoples property. And while were on the subject if you bring a guy home and I can see his boxers above his jeans expect me to give him a pair of yours dads pants that will fit properly. (Seriously when is that trend going to end)!!!
* More tan/make-up/hair does not equal more beautiful.
I cannot tell you how many times I've seen bad tans happen to good people. I don't know if when you're older the word "oompa loompa" will even have any meaning but trust me you don't want to be called one. With makeup remember that less is more - go for the natural look (if you need any at all) and save the drastic stuff for, oh I don't know, Halloween parties I guess??
But sweetheart even if you go against all these "rules" your dada and I will still be there for you and love you forever (we just may not be seen in public with you) xo

And just as a side note you may think the "sexy eyes" will make you look amazing but most people can't pull it off and end up just looking drunk.

Or if it's girls you're bringing home (either way your dad and I aren't fazed - well to be honest your dad would probably PREFER you to bring girls home) please make sure their pants fit well too!

Park Day
On Sunday we took Ava to the park so she could practice her crawling and standing in the sun. She is such a clever cookie and doesn't want to be in her pram as much now that she can move about on her own.
